SHIMMER OF HOPE
It was another one of those days that didn’t seem to end. There was nothing interesting to discover around me. In every direction I looked, there was nothing but gloom. Everything looked the same. Nothing stood out with any particularity. Everything seemed lifeless. Brown particles buzzed around me. Every now and then the haze gave a view of something black. It seemed threatening, but remained motionless in its place. Slowly and cautiously I approached the mysterious object. Disappointingly, I had to realize that it was a boring stone. A stone, which I had already seen several times. With no energy I led my long and slim body through entanglements of plants. Without thinking, my body made its movements. So, as if it had already squeezed through this labyrinth endless times. I felt trapped. Every day is like the previous one. The loneliness overcame me again. As so often on days that bring no hope. At such moments I like to remember the few days when everything seems to be enchanted, as if in an unimaginable dream.
Everything is bright, a shimmer spreads. The haze disappears. The ground is being illuminated, begins to sparkle. My body begins to sparkle, fills with warmth and becomes completely light. I allow myself to be carried away, enjoying the beauty that so rarely shows itself and seeing where it takes me. I am turned on my back. My eyes catch sight of something that cannot be categorized. The something looks so airy and is surrounded by a unique, new color. All the weakness in me disappears, since a long time I feel full of energy. I am full of enthusiasm. I want to have a closer look, to get to it…
But far too quickly the wonderful dream is over, I return to my loneliness. The warmth disappears around me, the lifelessness and barreness comes back to life. The loneliness takes up most of me again. These brief moments are the spark of hope. That something will come and save me. Something that I can entrust my feelings and thoughts to. Something that goes on an adventure with me, lets me discover new things and turns every day into something unique.
